While I myself do not know much about military relations or Sabotage, David paints a vivid picture of what a fly on the wall could hear or see in any top officials office. If you enjoy Clancy you will defiantly enjoy Davids writing. My only critique is i would prefer a glossary of terms to go to instead of them explained in the text. otherwise very nice story.Product details

The author's extensive military background shines brightly in this fascinating novelette. His pinpoint writing style and thoughtful approach to organizing the book brings the reader into the meat of the story quickly and easily. The story itself is torn from very recent headlines. Thrillers are the best kind of stories, because they require the reader’s active involvement—not just to be passively sucked into the story, but actively involved in the goings on within the pages. To be successful, they require the reader to not only buy into the story, but to actively seek its conclusion.
This thriller is very successful at drawing you into the story, but incentivizing you to seek out its conclusion. The author is highly knowledgeable about the technical aspects of this military thriller, and has created a setting that is wonderfully believable. What’s more, he has (in a short piece) created characters that you believe are real people with real motivations. He has done an extremely good job of setting the premise, and having his strong characters drive the reader along the plot. I felt I couldn’t put it down, and enjoyed the read immensely. If you like thrillers, take a read. I think you will find yourself geared up in a parachute and carrying a machine gun right alongside the characters within these pages.
While the writing does bring to mind authors such as Tom Clancy, the style is unique. David Joseph paints a unique picture of "what if" with this short story, showing the evil underbelly of politics and subversive military operations. There is minimal violence shown - most of it is implied and the reader is left feeling the potential dread of what will happen after the conclusion of the story. Very much a brain teaser.
With that said, the political undercurrents are only subtly veiled. Depending upon the reader's personal political views (both domestic and internationally), it could affect the enjoyment. Personally, I would have preferred that the author use more pronouns and descriptions to describe the characters. After a while my mind tried to blur on the numerous amount of names. "The old man", "the President" and other things may have brought me closer to the most important characters.
This is a quick read that leaves me thinking long after the story is over. Well worth the time spent with it, and I think those who prefer this genre (as I am typically a science fiction reader) will like it. I did!
Putin’s Chokepoints is a short political thriller written by David Joseph and narrated by Nate Cimmino. I was given a code to download audio book free in exchange for an honest review.
This story has a lot of political information included. Putin’s has a grand plan to raise the price of oil and have it blamed on Islamic extremists. We get a glimpse of Putin’s personality, at least as far as the author understands it. He seems to be a jovial if scary person.
Told well the story raises questions about Putin’s current actions and if he can really be as devious as portrayed. I enjoyed this story and have been looking at Putin’s actions differently than I used too. Not sure that was the intended purpose but that is how if affected me. I recommend this story to those who like political thrillers with in-depth information. Nate Cimmino does a great job reading the story.

A great thriller, intermixed with facts and fiction; blurring the line to become chillingly possible. Chokepoints strategy is brilliantly possible.
The dialog lends intrigue to a great plot, well written. This book will open your eyes to the world of global strategy, superpower, politics, and détente.
This is a very good novelette that flows in nicely to Joseph's other work, which also involve Vladimir Putin. The dialogue is interesting and the story is well thought out. This is no half-baked spy thriller, this is written from the inside out. How the author knows so much is a bit frightening, to be perfectly honest.
If you like knowing more about the world, like say, Russia's Nuclear Submarine Fleet capabilities, this book is a must read.
