It's hard to give a good review without spoilers on this one. I liked the back story on this one, the "why" of zombies. The characters make decisions that real people would make, however irrational they may be. Twisted as this may be, I loved that the main character, Kyle, was an unintentional hero. From just another loser, to the new sheriff in town, he discovers that the decisions he makes when he thinks no one is watching aren't quite what they seem. He's not alone, someones watching, those decisions have made all the difference, and those "somebodies" are routing for him.

Hasn't anyone that has read this book noticed the discrepancies in this book? I like the story but first Kyle's parents tried to bite him then got killed in a fire. Later it says they got killed by "normal people". Then "Dave" has a wooden leg. No where in the rest of the book has Dave telling how he got the wooden leg. This book jumps around too much.
Good story kept me wanting to read more but the end was really sudden.
Ok I gave it a five star cause I love Zombie books. This one was funny and serious and just what a good Zombie book should be.
This was a great read for me. I hope you keep writing books like this. I would tell all my zombie buddies out there to read this book.
I thought it was a great read from beginning to end. I enjoyed seeing Kyle slip into the role he ended up with. Glad to see he finally found "peace".
This is a well written take on the zombie apocalypse. The characters are well developed and very realistic in thinking and actions. The action scenes are easy to visualize. I hope this is the start of a series because I would like to see the future adventures of Kyle.
I've many zombie books - and been disappointed plenty of times (World War Z? Yawn!). Only one other zombie book compares to this one, culling the garbage from the cream Area 187, Almost Hell. To read another good zombie story was a pleasant surprise, as this story actually has substance, laughs and a hero/anti-hero that makes delving into the story a worthwhile adventure. I really hope there is a sequel to this one, as one book just isn't enough to this universe!
